How long can I hire a product?

Whether you need equipment for a day, a week, a month or longer, we offer flexible rental terms to match your project's timeline.

Do I need to pay a Security Deposit?

Yes. However, you don't actually pay a deposit. Just like when you book a Hotel room, a Pre-Authorisation will be taken on your Credit Card of choice. This must be done prior to pick-up or dispatch of the product. Our terms of hiring cover any charges that may be retained from this. $500 is the pre-auth amount required.

What restrictions are there on what I can hire?

Some items require a licence to operate them, however for attachments we just need to know that you have the right machine.

What happens if I hire something and you don't have it?

We will make every attempt to ensure your hired item is available at the time you have selected for pick-up or delivery. If we encounter an issue, we will contact you as soon as possible to discuss alternatives.

What happens if something I am renting gets damaged?

When renting equipment, the possibility of damage is always a concern.

Immediate Notification:

  • The most crucial step to immediately notify us of any damage. Prompt notification allows us to assess the situation and take appropriate action.

Documentation:

  • Document the damage thoroughly. This includes:

  • Taking photographs and/or videos of the damage.

  • Writing a detailed description of how the damage occurred.

  • Gathering any witness statements, if applicable.

Assessment:

  • Hire-M8 will conduct its own assessment of the damage to determine:

  • The extent of the damage.

  • The cause of the damage.

  • The cost of repairs or replacement.

  • This assessment may involve our own technicians or external repair specialists.

Determining Liability:

  • Your rental agreement covers particulars like the liability for the damage. Factors that may be considered include:

  • Whether the damage was caused by normal wear and tear or by negligence or misuse.

  • Whether the operator followed the equipment's operating instructions.

  • Based on the assessment and liability determination, Hire-M8 will decide whether to repair or replace the damaged equipment.

  • You may be responsible for the cost of repairs or replacement, depending on the circumstances and the terms of the rental agreement.

Rental Agreement:

  • Your rental agreement will have details of what is and is not your responsibility during the rental period. It is very important to read and understand those terms.

I need to pick up the product early, but the Hire-M8 warehouse opens at 8am.

If you have arranged with our equipment expert to pickup your rental product early, we can make exceptions to our opening times. Please ensure you have discussed this personally with our team, as online bookings may not be actions until our normal opening time.

What identification will I need to produce to hire equipment?

If you order a product online you will receive a QR code on your receipt to produce at the time of pickup, this will speed up the pickup process.

You will also be required to provide photo identification, like a drivers licence. We will retain a copy of this against your file which will also speed things up for your next hire.

When does the Hire period start and end?

When you book the products you need, the start and end time of the hire agreement will be noted.

Will you show me how to use the equipment I have hired?

Yes, you will receive operating instructions as part of the documentation, along with copies of the rental agreement.

What happens if the equipment I have hired is not working or broken?

If the equipment is faulty upon receiving it, we will look to replace it as soon as possible. If a replacement cannot be provided in a timely fashion, a full refund will be issued.
